Violin & Theory / Main Violinist
Janice was first introduced to the violin when she was six years old. During her youth days, she was a member of Singapore National Youth Orchestra & represented Singapore in Aberdeen, Scotland for a music festival in 2001. In 2006, she joined The Philharmonic Orchestra. She taught the violin at MGS, PLMGS CHIJ & Wolfgang Violin Studio. With over 20 years of experience teaching kids & adults, she is the lead mentor for each of the teachers at LVL Music Academy, ensuring that each teacher is dedicated and fulfilled in their role. She is mother of a 4 years old & 1 year old.
Ideally a good age to learn would be 4years old onwards. However some children as young as 3 years 6 months old can start too. Every child is different. Best to do a trial class first to see if your child is ready.
There is no age limit. If you put your heart in it, anyone can learn the violin. One of our top performing students is 67 years old and he joined at the age of 65!
At LVL Music Academy, we will guide you on how to do so. Beginner violins for sale and rental are available. Please talk to teacher Janice.
Our teachers will always make sure you understand and master a skill before moving forward. Every class is tailored according to each student’s ability to learn.
Yes, we do. We have 1-to-1 home & studio classes as well as private online violin lessons.
I would recommend group classes for more advanced players. Beginners would learn more from a one to one class. You get to learn the right basics and build a good foundation.
Anyone can learn the violin. You just need the right teacher, good violin and practice.
Yes, you can. You can schedule the lessons after you come back from your holiday.
Yes, encouraged. This way you can know your child’s progress and also assist your child during home practice.
No, it is not. But it is encouraged so we can work towards goals. Leisure learning is available too.
In 4 lessons you will be able to play some simple tunes. To become a great violinist in Singapore it takes dedication & practice, our teachers will help you with that.
